The RAREST of the RAREST !The Penta Asahiflex H2 was made only for the South African market because Pentacon briefly held the rights to the name Pentax in South Africa. The naming rights issue was soon resolved and the Asahi Optical Company was allowed to sell their cameras under the Pentax name as in the rest of the world. Only a few early production bodies were made the Penta Asahiflex name. The Penta Asahiflex H2 was identical to the Asahi Pentax S2 and the Heiland Pentax H2. Interestingly, even though the Penta Asahiflex was given the H2 model designation, as in the Heiland version, it has the AOC logo on the prism housing.
