LEICA POST M6 BLACK 1 of 8 PRODUCED 1:2/35mm SUMMICRON-M FIXED CAMERA MEGA RARE. Here is an opportunity to own a very rare piece of Leica history. Please read the story that was published in the LEICA HISTORICAL SOCIETY ( LHS ) No:60 in October 2000 magazine about this camera. In short, the South Africa Tele communications company TELKOM ordered 6 x Leica M6 cameras to be converted and used as Leica Post cameras. The camera has a fixed aperture at f4 and a fixed focus SUMMICRON-M 1:2/35mm at 70cm lens. The camera is in very good cosmetic condition and in perfect working order. Shutter speeds are all accurate and light meter is calibrated to perfection. The base plate still has the original sticker on. There is no information at all on the internet about one of these as they are so scarce, but I found one sold at Christies auction in the year 2000. What the final sale price was is unknown. The camera body serial number is # 2006408 and the lens serial number is # 3062725. So if you are a collector of Leica. Then this is without doubt a piece for you.
